Writer's Style Guide

How to use the Watermark Style Guide

Course Description

That is why publications have style guides: to ensure internal consistency in the areas where the rules aren’t clear. The two most common are the AP Stylebook and The Chicago Manual of Style. These are massive, Bible-sized books that cover 100 times more information than we need. So, we’ve created our own smaller style guide for easier reference, covering just the questions that tend to come up in Watermark writing. It only covers areas that are unclear; it does not cover the 99 percent of cases where the rules are obvious and well-known to anyone who has passed high school English.
